The world of insects is depicted from the point of view of Boro, a small caterpillar just born. Boro's voice and sound effects are all expressed with human voices. Director Hayao Miyazaki's challenge to CG is a work that attracted a lot of attention.
“I wonder how the world looks to tiny, newly born caterpillars. When I was in elementary school, I was taught about photosynthesis in plants, and I was curious about how photosynthesis looked. I wonder if I can see it, if the leaf tastes like jelly when I bite into it, and if the wasps are like the unmanned attack planes that roam the battlefield today...
That's how this movie was made.

●Synopsis●
Boro caterpillars hatched from eggs before dawn in the grass. The morning sun I saw for the first time was very bright, and the world was full of delicious air. Boro descends to the root of Bologiku and steps into a world where caterpillar seniors and foreign enemies come and go.
